Merrill Reese

Growing up, Philadelphia native Merrill Reese knew he wanted to be a broadcaster. A sportscaster, to be specific.

While attending Temple University, Reese learned his craft at the college’s radio station, WRTI, where he did play-by-play for school sporting events and spun records on his weekly music show. After earning his bachelor’s degree in communications and broadcasting, Reese embarked on a radio career that would take him to the small Pennsylvania towns of Pottstown and Levittown before he eventually landed a job as a newscaster and sportscaster at WHAT and WWDB in Philadelphia.

After a few years, Reese moved to WIP, where he worked as a summer replacement and fill-in sportscaster and eventually began doing pre-game and post-game shows for the Philadelphia Eagles. From there, he became the color commentator during Eagles games, and took over the play-by-play duties during the 1977 season. READ MORE

Gecko Rock Resort

Mike Airhart met his wife Aileen five years ago, when they were both working as English teachers in South Korea. In 2012, they decided to leave their old lives behind and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. After liquidating their assets, the couple moved to a small town in southern Mexico and began building a boutique beachside resort from the ground up.

After over two years of design and construction, Gecko Rock Resort opened for business in late 2014. Located on the breathtaking Oaxacan Riviera, between the surfing mecca of Puerto Escondido and the high-end tourist destination of Huatulco, Gecko Rock offers a relaxing, intimate getaway in an unforgettable paradise. With four casitas, each equipped with private rooftop balconies, the resort provides a unique brand of personal attention and service. While sipping margaritas by the pool is always enjoyable to pass the time, for those wishing to get out and explore, the Puerto Escondido region offers some of the world’s best snorkeling, horseback riding, and mountain bike adventures. Gavin Martin

April 8, 2014

As the Chief Implementer of nGame, a human performance consulting company, Gavin Martin is not just encouraged to think differently – he’s required to.

At 12 years old, Gavin sold IT services door-to-door, starting the foundation for what would eventually become Tek Solutions. He gained the attention of a local software company called CPSI, where he worked his way from phone support to Junior Project Manager in less than a year. In 2008, Tek Solutions evolved from a 1-man IT services shop – serving primarily doctor’s offices – to a three person boutique brand management company, called Design by Gavin.

Unsatisfied with the idea of only doing computer-based work for the rest of his life, he shifted gears and earned his Communications and Spanish degrees from Webster University – while venturing into radio with NPR. Gavin was also a logistics manager for a courier company, managed a retail store and salesforce for Sherwin-Williams, and eventually sold Design by Gavin in 2012. READ MORE
